Hey! So if you’re like me, you may have that wavy in-between hair. It’s thick too so if I try to go with a curly style I’m drowning in crunchy thick gel or total grease! And since getting into a more natural lifestyle – I avoid anything that I know has chemicals and crap in it. No thank you!
So, check this out! I made this gel out of water and flaxseed. That’s literally it! So simple and easy to do!
Ingredients Needed
Water
Optional Essential Oils –
Rosemary is super beneficial for the hair itself and can add some shine while encouraging hair growth!
Lavender is also beneficial for just about everything and most people tolerate the scent.
Flaxseed Hair Gel
Simple DIY flaxseed hair gel
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Tbsp Flaxseeds
- Optional - essential oils for scent
Instructions
- Boil your water on the stovetop over medium heat.
- Add your flaxseeds and stir constantly for 4-5 minutes.
- Strain your liquid through cheesecloth into a mason jar and compost your seeds.
- Optional - stir in any added essential oils
- You can refrigerate for longer shelf life.
Notes
Use as you would gel. It may require you to 'scrunch' your hair to get the gel through all of your locks depending on hair thickness.
